Job Description
Qualified candidate will create and Implement Recreation Program for Adults residing in a residential group home.
Responsible to structure, incorporate and monitor meaningful individualized group activities for adults with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.:
Develop and conduct a program of meaningful activities including activities, which are intellectually stimulating, augment health maintenance, encourage participation of the program participants in the community and involve volunteers.
Plan, evaluate, and structure a recreation program which will be incorporated into each individuals daily activity schedule including treatment goals and objectives that will be developed, monitored and updated as needed.
Create a monthly recreation calendar of activities for use by the residence to provide information and outings for program participants and staff.
Responsible for annual evaluation of individual's strengths and needs; annual evaluation of the individual's level of functioning in reference to recreational skills; annual assessments; interim reviews; monthly summaries; monitoring data sheets in reference to recreation goals and objectives.
Plan, research, and develop community outings, i.e., sports activities, etc.
Ensure equipment and supplies for programming and leisure-time activities are available and on-site.
In conjunction with other disciplines, will evaluate and help achieve treatment goals and implement individual recreation programs if needed.
Responsible for attending scheduled weekly team and staff meetings.
Supervise, instruct, and demonstrate programs and activities to the staff that will implement the program, and provide follow up to monitor staff and programs.
Conduct on site in service training to the staff.
Attend community activities with staff/consumers.
Run weekly in house recreational activities.
Position requires:
Bachelors Degree and one to six months related experience.
