Summary
You will serve as a AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the Maintenance Division of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

Responsibilities
  • You will install, repair, and modify large/complex systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, cleaning, filtering, and circulating.
  • You will repair and maintain a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions.
  • You will calculate airflow and pressure-temperature characteristics and make repairs to faulty equipment to keep inoperative time to a minimum.
  • You will select tools, decide on methods and techniques to use, and install a variety of parts including major portions of assigned systems and equipment, applying and interpreting information in blueprints, charts, and sketches.
  • You will check for the probability of leaks by visual and audible examination of equipment, by application of prescribed test procedures and equipment, and by exploration of probable reasons for equipment failure.

  • Selectee must be certified in the use of a respirator.
  • Selectee must attend Electrical Code refresher course annually.
  • Selectee must possess and maintain a EPA universal certifications. (NOTE: A copy of your certification must be submitted with your application. Failure to submit the required Certification will render you ineligible for this position).

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
