Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. The Marketing Technician position serves as a marketing "Account Executive" and is the primary liaison and point of contact between Marketing and assigned MCCS activities and programs. Responsible for meeting with assigned activity managers to discuss and identify marketing and advertising requirements and objectives. Utilizes a variety of communication methods and techniques including oral, written, visual, digital and personal media for the purpose of informing target audience about programs, services, special events and policies sponsored by or affiliated with MCCS operations.
Assists in writing and editing copy for client web pages, calendars, social media, electronic and digital media, marketing collateral, press releases and articles for trade publications. May organize, tabulate, track and research primary data for demographic surveys and focus groups. Enters survey data and produces reports. Assists in communication, production and promotional requirements including developing exhibits, brochures, calendars, posters, coordinating and executing special events, and other public relations activities for the department. Assists with the coordination of MCCS publicity through newsletters, brochures, posters, and other media sources in print, electronic and digital formats. Monitors and participates in administration of MCCS social media sites and other technology.
Reviews outgoing correspondence and marketing collateral for proper grammar, format, accuracy, compliance with administrative policy, and adherence to branding guidelines. Personally responds to routine telephone inquiries and routine mail. Initiates and prepares routine correspondence including email, letters, memoranda, and messages using computer and various software. Must be extremely organized and proficient on a variety of software programs to include Microsoft Office. Maintains official files and periodically disposes of records in accordance with official disposition instructions. Assists branch head and staff members by performing various marketing, clerical, and administrative tasks.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Three years of experience that demonstrates work experience in marketing, public relations, communications or related field. Strong computer skills, strong writing, oral communication, negotiation and sales skills are a must. Valid drivers' license required. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
