 Position Summary:

The Director of Application Delivery Operations will work closely with key business partners and peers within the technology team to manage and

enhance the systems and applications used by all business functions. They will leverage application development and support best practices,

methodologies, standards, and guiding principles. 

This role will bring together our existing Business Intelligence team and our E-Commerce software development team into a new joint Application

Delivery team. This new team will be tasked with delivering business value through custom applications leveraging the best of our software

development capabilities in web and mobile applications in conjunction with advanced data analytics and reporting capabilities.


Our strategy around business data is evolving, and the Director of Application Delivery Operations will be responsible for developing that vision

and roadmap. Key elements of the future roadmap will include big data, event streaming, AI/ML, and predictive analytics capabilities. Moreover,

we are looking to enhance our existing data warehousing and reporting capabilities with improved visualization and self-service

capabilities. Experience planning and executing in these areas is a must for a successful candidate.

This role will also be tasked with standardizing and streamlining our development practices across all development resources to ensure the

highly consistent, efficient, and reliable delivery of projects on time and on budget.


Responsibilities

-Partner with business leaders to understand their needs, and work with other technology leaders to ensure system investments are

properly prioritized, scoped, delivered, and managed in support of business requirements.

-Maintain strong relationships with business leaders, cross-functional teams, internal and external stakeholders.

-Lead and facilitate the evaluation/recommendation of new technologies or capabilities that can be applied across the business.

-Review status of business system capabilities and prepare recommendations for system improvements.

-Provide architectural guidance and oversight across projects and technology platforms, ensure guiding principles and technology

standards are followed.

-Develop and maintain relevant metrics to assess team efficacy including release planning, sprint planning, execution, quality, and

cadence.

-Prepare system configuration and deployment cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.

-Provide oversight and management to a combination of the E-Commerce and Business Intelligence teams and their managers. Set

annual performance targets for individuals and the teams, and conduct performance reviews.

-Manage outsourced applications development teams to support and enhance the portfolio of applications.

-Partner with application vendors to understand and plan for application technology roadmaps and support services.

Experience:

-8+ years of related work experience with 3+ years in a broad enterprise applications support and delivery management.

-Experience working with both software and data-centric teams, ideally encompassing big data, data analytics, web, and mobile disciplines.

-Hands-on experience leading software development teams using multiple development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Kanban, Scrum).

-Experience supporting teams responsible for simultaneously developing new software and supporting existing applications.

-Experience with developing and supporting E-Commerce solutions in a commercial environment.

-A strong viewpoint and perspective on process improvement and work management in a complex software development environment.

-Experience managing outsourced support and applications development.

-Ability to work directly with business partners and end-users to generate consensus around technical directions.

-Ability to translate complex technical issues into business terms.

-Ability to drive continuous improvement across the organization
