The United States District Court, District of Arizona is seeking a Network Administrator, located in the Tucson Office. This position is part of the consolidated Systems Technology Division and reports to a Systems Technology Division Manager. The incumbent will assist Network Administrators and Systems Administrators in providing specialized technical and administrative support for Judges, Chambers staff, Clerk's Office, U.S.

Probation Office, and U.S. Pretrial Services Office staff in regard to network and server infrastructure and related components and software.The Network Administrator is responsible for the support, installation, configuration, and maintenance of all servers and network technologies utilized within the District of Arizona, including hardware, software, and related components. *Preference given to applications received by October 31, 2021.**REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Coordinate and link computer systems to increase compatibility and share information...

Determine computer software or hardware needed to set up or alter systems. Train users to work with computer systems and programs. Diagnose hardware and custom off-the-shelf software problems and replace defective components.

Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, and all configurations. Recommend changes to improve systems and configuration, as well as determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes. Maintain network security.

Monitor data backups, tape rotation schedules and replication of data between sites. Plan for disaster recovery operations and testing, including network performance, security, anti-virus, intrusion, web usage/monitoring, design and acquisition of servers, switches, and other related components. Produce useful system documentation and perform system startup and shutdown procedures.

Monitor network logs, test for weaknesses, apply updates, install, and implement security programs, and evaluate network management software. Respond to day-to-day support needs of networked system, audio visual systems, VOIP systems and related applications throughout the district, including installation, support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Repair on-site or coordinate repair of systems.

Perform upgrades and coordinate service with vendors or other in-house staff, ensuring changes can be implemented with minimal disruption. Recommend the purchase of software, hardware, and services to support specific needs of the court. Maintain inventory of networked systems and components, according to internal control policies.

Provide network systems and device support training to other systems technology staff. Participate in local or national conferences and similar gatherings to continue professional development. Perform systems administration tasks, including file server configuration, group policy administration and user account administration.

Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe successful applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent; have two years of general experience and two years specialized experience, including at least one year equivalent to work at the next lower level (CL 25).Specialized experience is progressively responsible experience that is in, or closely related to, the work of the position that has provided the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This includes progressively responsible experience related to the technical aspects of network related applications, terminology and methodology including project assignments that involved network related maintenance and technical support. This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and the physical mobility to access equipment wherever it may be positioned (e.g., under desks, on racks, etc.).

Strong troubleshooting abilities and customer service skills are mandatory. Travel
