The US Military is a diverse population of Americans who voluntarily serve their country in the Armed Forces. Each of these Soldiers are protected by the 1st Amendment right to worship freely. There is a need for Orthodox priests to serve those who sacrifice so much.

Needed: a part-time chaplain for a US Army Reserve Battalion consisting of approximately 550 Soldiers in the near to local area. Serves as chaplain and advisor to the military commander and professional staff on matters of religion, ethics, morals, and morale. Performs and provides direct, comprehensive pastoral ministry to include: counseling, religious ministrations, and worship services in garrison and field training environments. Provides pastoral care to Soldier's families, to include home and hospital visitation. Conducts memorial and funeral services. Ensures the free exercise of religion to uphold the 1st Amendment rights of Soldiers in compliance with US Code Title X. Provides Suicide Prevention and PTSD training. Mentors the Battalion unit ministry team.

Basic Requirements to Serve as a Chaplain:

Must attain your Bishop’s permission and be endorsed by DOD recognized ecclesiastical body.

Be in good health and able to minister in varied ministry settings.

Must be a legal permanent resident (Green Card Holder) or Citizen to serve.

Waivers available for age requirements: 46 years old to start commissioned service as a Reserve Chaplain
