- Manages and administers the Security and Law Enforcement (S and LE) Program, formulates District policies and provides program direction by issuing regulations, standards, and technical guidance for the Galveston District.
- Manages surveys, incident investigation, and reporting. Advises the Commander and staff on Security and Law Enforcement matters. Serves as the District technical authority on S and LE.
- Manages and administers S and LE support for emergency management operations
- Manages a comprehensive security program for emergency actions during and after natural disasters and national crises.
- Represents the District on matters dealing with security matters with other Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and maintains close liaison with these agencies. Evaluates security suggestions.
- Administers the personnel security program to include requests and follow-up for full field or background investigations
- Responsible for providing guidance to employees in the Galveston District whom are designated as security representatives for their respective offices

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GSS-11. 1) Independently analyzing and resolving security issues such as detecting and preventing acts of fraud and/or conducting security inspections and surveys. 2) Experience in reviewing personnel security measures and issues. 3) Experience in the receipt. storage and transmission of classified documents.
