Executive Chef

The Executive Chef at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) is responsible for managing the culinary activities of all food outlets. The Food and Beverage operation strives to provide engaging, high-quality experiences for restaurant guests, quick service customers, festival attendees, and catering for private groups and special programs. The executive chef is an on-site, full-time, benefits eligible position that reports to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and regulate recipe production for consistent output.
- Establish presentation techniques and standards.
- Design and implement menus for all food and beverage outlets.
- Project food consumption to appropriately create orders.
- Plan and price menu items according to financial goals.
- Manage labor costs, food costs, and maintenance costs.
- Hire and develop a high functioning team of culinary professionals.
- Establish performance expectations and evaluation techniques.
- Lead by example, and hold the team accountable.
- Manage food preparation and production for all food and beverage outlets.
- Uphold high standards for food quality to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Exercise flexibility and adjust to the needs of the guest when possible.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of culinary school with five or more years of experience in the industry.
- Experience managing the kitchen of a high-volume restaurant.
- Excellent leadership and management, and communication skills.
- Excellent service skills, professional demeanor.
- Ability to adjust operations based upon seasonal demands.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
- Must be able to bend, lean, stand, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time and in all weather and environmental conditions.
- Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.
- All positions at Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.

The Food and Beverage Department delivers exceptional, chef-driven culinary service to Whitewater guests. Whitewater is home to diverse and ever-evolving food and beverage outlets, including full-service and fast casual dining options. In addition, the Food and Beverage Department oversees catering for private events and Adventure Dining.
