Project Manager – Sr. assists the Lead Project Manager in providing managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors scope, costs, scheduling, staffing, communications, contractual deliverables as well as outside vendors as appropriate for all projects in cue. The Project Manager  - Sr. develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that might impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, the Project Manager – Sr. tracks at-risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on schedule and budget. Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting to the contract’s Government lead.

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree; 7-10 years of relevant experience; Secret clearance at a minimum.   Excellent oral and written communication skills; Familiarity with Microsoft products such as MS Project, MS Office, SCCM, SCOM, and SQL
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Experience working in or with DISA or other military environment
  • Experience leading an IT enterprise system support team.

 

Responsibilities: 

The Project Manger - Sr reviews all project schedules and ensures that deliverables are completed in timely manner. Oversees overall project cost control and cost projections. Knowledgeable in the use of the project management tools used for activity assignment, resource planning, and cost control. Ensures the invoicing process provides the proper information and distribution on invoices. Ensures smooth coordination consistent with the contract and task order procedures for the key personnel approval, consent to subcontract as well as consent to purchase travel, tools and other direct costs. Ensures problem resolution and customer satisfaction for individual task orders.

  • Provide administrative planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and recommended approval actions to accomplish overall program objectives. 
  • Follow the current best industry practices for project management support within the guidelines of DoD acquisition regulations and policies. As reflected in planning life-cycle management, organizing, directing, and resource control. 
  • Collaborate with Defense information Systems Agency (DISA) and other stakeholders to develop, monitor, and implement the schedule for assigned projects. Report on the status of assigned projects 
  • Interact with the program office, vendors, and subcontractor personnel working on the project to communicate customer issues and receive feedback on project development, deployment, and capability. 
  • Reporting project status to key stakeholders 
  • Have flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned 

 

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations 
  • Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner 

 

Technical Knowledge 

The Project Manager – Sr. must have experience with diverse IT projects both large and small.   Must be well versed in full systems development life cycle, enterprise-wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, structure and management practices.  Must be able to identify and mitigate risks to IT programs.  Must be able to manage to cost, schedule and performance. Typically oversees all aspects of the project teams on large projects or a significant segment of large and complex project environments.

Travel Requirements: 

 

This position will involve minimal travel
