Most of all, you’re hungry to serve as a true steward of our clients’ brands: You want to collaborate with our strategy, creative, media, public relations, and digital teams — as well as your Managing Director — to develop integrated program strategies and marketing plans and ensure that a high degree of strategy is embedded in all aspects of our clients’ programs.

As an Account Director, you’ll build lasting relationships with our clients. When conflicts occur, you’ll resolve them. You’ll use your keen communication skills to provide ongoing strategic recommendations, which will lead to consistent account growth. You’ll work closely with your Managing Director to assess your clients’ marketing needs — and develop strategic solutions that grow our revenue. You’ll also manage your associates, establishing their training and development plans, guiding their growth opportunities, ensuring they are utilized appropriately, and conducting their annual performance appraisals.


  • Ensure alignment of spec work with RFP/opportunity strategy
  • Ensure clients sign contracts and SOWs/work authorizations before initiation of agency work
  • Maintain deep understanding of clients’ industry/segment
  • Maintain deep understanding of clients and their customer profiles
  • Maintain deep understanding of clients’ competitors
  • Manage out-of-scope requests at program/campaign level
  • Manage client budgets
  • Serves as primary business owner for both client and internal account teams for all elements relative to your clients
  • Develop ongoing strategic recommendations that solve business objectives for your clients, above and beyond contracted client engagement
  • Ensure team is successful with execution of entire client engagement
  • Own client conflict resolution (disputes and negotiations)
  • Ensure alignment of creative and client strategy and spot checks, as necessary
  • Manage individual client financial metrics
  • Manage client/agency performance review
  • Manage existing client revenue goals and projections
  • Ensure accurate and thorough ongoing revenue forecast for your clients
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of your clients’ organizational structures and operations
  • Manage assigned client services team members
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
  • Other duties, as assigned


  • 10+ years of account management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or journalism
  • Marketing agency experience
  • Thorough knowledge of agency capabilities/offerings
  • Mastery in developing client proposals and SOWs
  • Mastery in developing program/campaign goals and benchmarking
  • Mastery of program/campaign and project financial management and analysis
  • Skills in managing client financial metrics
  • Mastery of leadership in integrated strategy throughout client relationships
  • Skills in developing integrated marketing plans and budgets aligned with clients’ business objectives
  • Skills in providing strong brand stewardship for clients throughout relationship
  • Skills in successful negotiations and conflict resolution
  • Skills in growing client relationships and providing successful conflict resolution
  • Proven success in growing business within respective clients
  • Experience managing and successfully developing direct reports
