Junior Buyer

Turtle & Hughes is seeking a Junior Buyer to primarily support our New York/New Jersey region.

This position will report to our Somerset, NJ location and have some remote capabilities.

This entry level position will be responsible for expediting open purchase orders, managing information related to open orders, as well as, problem solving, managing returns, invoice management, purchasing goods within their assigned vendors, and deliver best in class customer service.

Core Responsibilities

• Learn to source and place purchase orders
• Manage information within the ERP system concerning back-orders, expected ship dates, etc.
• Proactively communicate with the sales team as it pertains to their open orders and back-order dates.
• Assist buyers with assigned current projects.
• Procure assigned items as required
• Support inventory management process

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred, not required
• MS Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Communication skills (verbal & written)
• Ability to be a self starter, organize and prioritize work
• Ability to work both onsite and offsite as required. (this role will require both, as we are in a hybrid work environment)
• Understanding procurement in a distribution environment a plus
• Must possess a willingness to learn.
