Turnaround Management Association (TMA) is searching for an experienced Education Program Management professional. This position is responsible for the strategy, design, and delivery of all educational content presented at conferences or delivered in webinars and e-learning programs as well as certification oversight. The qualified candidate will be someone who takes the initiative, and has strong interpersonal, detail orientation, project management and problem-solving skills.

Turnaround Management Association (TMA) (non for profit) is the most professionally diverse organization in the corporate restructuring, renewal, and corporate health space. We are a community of professionals who work with companies to improve performance, manage disruption, restructure, and work through insolvency, preserve equity, and drive significantly improved results. Established in 1988 and located in downtown Chicago on Wacker Drive, TMA has nearly 10,000 members in 54 chapters worldwide, including 35 North American chapters. Members include turnaround practitioners, attorneys, accountants, advisors, liquidators, consultants, as well as academic, government employees, And members of the judiciary. What is the Opportunity?

Under the leadership of the CEO, the position is responsible for TMA's strategy design, and delivery of all educational programming. More specifically they would be responsible for the following:

  • Strategizes and plans TMA Global educational activities including serving as primary liaison to the association's Education Oversight Committee which is primarily responsible for creation of approximately 6 online webinars per year.
  • Manages and executes webinars including scheduling, technical production, outside vendor management, content development, speaker preparation, and event production.
  • Oversees vendor relationships for educational programming needs including negotiating agreements, quality delivery of services, expense monitoring, and invoice management.
  • Manages multimedia content posted to TMA Learning Link, a repository of global and chapter content.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for TMA Conference Planning Committees for the Association's 2 major conferences (TMA Annual and Distressed Investing Conference) including topic selection, speaker identification and outreach, and educational format development (seven - nine 45minute to 1-hour sessions per conference).
  • Coordinates with both the Meeting Planner and Director of Business Development on conference planning logistics, supports event planning and builds conference schedules for select TMA Global events.
  • Oversees all continuing education attendance verification and session evaluation paperwork and reporting for both virtual and in-person audiences.
  • Primarily responsible for speaker management and event production for both virtual and in-person conference education sessions.
  • Liaison to the TMA Certification Oversight Committee, along with the Membership and Chapter Relations department, including Management and production of the TMA Bootcamp, a 5-hour program used to introduce professionals to the association's certification opportunities offered up to 6 times per year (3-4 live at the association's conferences and 2-3 virtually).
  • Support efforts to develop and maintain certification resources, including written materials, test development and delivery, and e-learning programming.
  • Fosters an atmosphere of enterprise-wide cooperation and collaboration; supports cross-functional activities impacting all areas of operation.
  • Represents TMA to both member and non-member audiences and promotes the organization's and member's work on social media.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or as needed.

Job Location: Flexible hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and other days virtual.

  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for out of state candidates.

TMA requires employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by the CDC unless a religious or medical exemption is granted.

What qualifications are needed?

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is preferred.
  • Five plus years' project management experience with some experience in education program development and management of educational resources.
  • Some association experience preferred.
  • Legal/business background a plus.
  • Strong decision making and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact well with staff management team, volunteer leaders, and certification candidates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong computer knowledge and database experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, execute, and manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency in effective problem solving.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel nationally (up to four times a year) to assist with TMA's events.
