About the work

The Mission: Steer partnerships, pathways and solutions to improve existing, invent new, and imagine transformational GEOINT capabilities.

The Vision: Accelerating GEOINT beyond the pace of our adversaries' capabilities.

You will work with a team supporting NGA to proactively engage with partners, industry, academia and other organizations to stay abreast of developments and emerging capabilities that could have an impact to the agency, keeping NGA at the forefront of its trade. The team anticipates, collaborates, coordinates, leads, guides and manages useful solutions to fulfill urgent or emerging Geospatial intelligence needs at NGA. The team is comprised of experienced, skilled, astute individuals - civilian and contractors - from a myriad of different backgrounds, who add value to the agency in fulfilling the NGA mission.

As an Innovation Engineering Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing expertise in business process engineering and innovation management to support the Office of Venture Innovation at NGA. Your responsibilities will include assisting with innovation prioritization, editorial support, and guidance on innovation strategic alignment across NGA.

Your primary task will be to create and execute an innovation management process that provides transparency for all innovation submissions in support of the NGA Venture Board (NVB). This will allow NGA entrepreneurs the opportunity to receive four weeks of dedicated Accelerator Training to perform problem curation, customer discovery, and receive coaching as they mature their ideas. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to identify, define and capture specific mission-focused problem areas and success criteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Streamline the Innovation process flow to include discovery and evaluation (NVB).
  • Consultation in identifying, building and maintaining appropriate tracker database(s) in support of new innovation ideas, pilots and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with IPO, KC, and Enterprise stakeholders to identify, define and capture specific mission focused problem areas and success criteria.
  • Logistics, communications, and execution of the NVB.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • US Citizenship
  • Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) Security Clearance issued by the US Government
  • Master's Degree or higher with knowledge in geospatial intelligence functions, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Engineering or a field related to the duties defined above or equivalent senior level work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NGA's organizational hierarchy and business functions (i.e. NERF, IPOs, KCs, Mission Alignment, and governance).
  • Demonstrated experience working in a Program Office or with product teams.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NGA's Strategic Correspondence and Guiding Principles.
  • Demonstrated experience with the geospatial intelligence mission.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Start Up methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with other innovation offices within NGA.

To excel in this role, you should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently, is also important.

To summarize, this role requires an individual who is highly motivated, possesses strong leadership and organizational skills, and is able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. If you are passionate about innovation and looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.
