Job Description

SUMMARY: Lead and execute customer-focused, marketing in support of TRUVIC’s mission to redefine vascular thrombus management, build customer awareness and generate strong demand. Candidate will be responsible for providing Marketing / Commercial input for new device and expanded market opportunities focused on “upstream” assessment of expansion opportunities (therapeutic adjacencies) for the TRUVIC portfolio. As the organization grows this role will eventually lead a team of upstream marketers in partnership with TRUVIC Commercial and Development teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned on an individual basis.

  • Work closely with the Product Development (R&D) and Commercial Teams to (i) assess the market opportunity for new / expansion products, (ii) prioritize new product functionality / features that will deliver competitive solutions in targeted markets, and (iii) develop value proposition for new products that will become foundational for an eventual promotional campaign
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Sales Teams to ensure brand and messaging consistency across all marketing outputs
  • Interact with physicians, clinicians and the sales force regarding product needs, marketing programs and materials
  • Respond to customer and sales force needs; develop recommendations for product enhancements, marketing tools and resources
  • Lead collection of voice-of-customer feedback regarding new products at industry events, tradeshows and conferences
  • Develop product and disease-state sales training material and tools for the commercial organization
  • Educate and train customers and the TRUVIC field team on technical and technique matters related to TRUVIC systems and devices
  • Contribute to campaign development with specific focus on the following:
    • General knowledge: stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the peripheral, DVT, coronary and pulmonary embolism markets
    • Campaign development: work cross-functionally to develop recommendations and implement promotional campaigns for TRUVIC product line and brands (build claims matrix / product testing)
    • Content creation: develop messaging and visual campaigns and associated collateral
    • Promotional programs: establish and execute promotional programs and events that raise awareness and educate customers regarding TRUVIC solutions
    • Reporting and analytics: work with commercial operations in order to ensure a data-driven approach to marketing investment and product / program prioritization
    • Motivate, coach and be a people leader of a team of upstream marketers


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Product Development, Market Analytics / Research or similar. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of medical device marketing experience
  • Previous coaching, mentoring and people management experience (preferred)

Job specific requirements:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Development of market models and market needs and assessment
  • Experience translating medical device features into customer value propositions and market differentiation as well as product development targets for internal stakeholders (development partners)
  • Hands on experience in promotional content development and management
  • Ability and interest in leading a team of marketing professionals (upstream team)
  • Ability to mentor, coach and train more junior upstream markers in the skills of market assessment, opportunity analysis and translating market needs into product development targets and priorities
  • Proficiency with PC-based applications, including Microsoft 365 is required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: __________________________________________________

  • Manage relationships with contractors/vendors pertaining to research, analytics and marketing in the medical device field
  • As the Marketing Team expands this role will likely include leadership of an upstream marketing team - responsible for managing upstream Product Manager(s)
