ACCOUNT DIRECTOR



Primary Role: Trumpet is an advertising agency with a brand consulting perspective. Our approach aligns communications, company culture and the customer experience with what a company stands for — not merely what they sell. Within this context and focusing on both near-term and long-term performance improvement, the Account Director has the following primary responsibilities: 


  • Lead regional / national accounts as the primary point of client contact mobilizing strategy and creative resources to positively drive near term (advertising) and long term (branding) performance to impact our clients’ businesses.  
  • Collaborate with clients to objectively understand opportunities and establish priorities. Manage relationships as an advocate for the client’s business -- not simply as a manager of deliverables and deadlines. 
  • Integrate seamlessly with Production to ensure effective execution to capitalize on identified opportunities and priorities. 
  • Build and strengthen client relationships rooted in value-creation beyond exceptional execution.
  • Identify meaningful KPIs and metrics related to business imperatives.
  • Ensure that objective performance reporting to clients is consistent and provoking.
  • Understand Category/Trends that impact a client’s business, category, and audience. Step back from the day to day more often than annual planning dictates. 
  • Manage overarching budgets aligning investments with business imperatives.
  • Reporting to CEO on direction of accounts as they relate to agency perspective and COO on resources required to improve client’s ROI and CLV. 


This is a senior level position that requires a minimum of 7-10 years agency experience managing client relationships and collaborating internally with creative, production, analytics, media, and digital resources. Trumpet is a location-agnostic organization.  You may choose to work from wherever you desire, which could include Trumpet offices, your home, or other suitable locations, in any combination, near or far.  Though there will be times when coordinated effort in the same location with clients and teammates will be necessary, colocation will not generally be required in our day-to-day work.  You will be provided flexibility in both the location and timing of your work and will be held accountable to your productivity in terms of Value-Creation -- not hours -- regardless of where you sit or stand.
