Job Description

Our client is looking to bring on a new HR Generalist to their Kent team. In this position you will be reporting to the onsite HR Manager and be providing support with onboarding, managing the company HRIS, developing reports for accounting and payroll, and being a liaison for floor workers and management. This is an onsite position that will have a significant amount of interaction with both floor and office workers. This is a direct hire opportunity.

 

Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000, DOE

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm; flexibility on shift start available

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with recruiting duties: posting positions, scheduling, reviewing resumes, attending job fairs, interviewing (for non-exempt positions)

  • Conducts onboarding of new employees

  • Organizes and conducts orientations

  • Creates and completes weekly and monthly reports for accounting and payroll

  • Helps employees with open enrollment for benefits and answers questions related to the benefits provided

  • Providing assistance and counseling to employees when it comes to job-related conflicts, dispute resolution and referring complex problems to the HR Manager

  • Work with the HR Manager on events that will increase employee engagement

  • Maintain employee files ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred

  • 1 to 3 years of Human Resources experience; manufacturing, production, or a related industry preferred

  • Experience with unions and collective bargaining agreements strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, regulations, and statutes

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems

  • Ability to consolidate data into concise, executive-ready presentations and report

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

  • Be able to pass a drug screen and a background check

  • Be authorized to work for any employer in the United States of America

Physical Requirements:

  • Needs to be able to sit for prolonged periods of time

  • Needs to be able to move throughout the facility, both in the office and on the production floor

  • Needs to be able to occasionally work in a dusty environment around metals

  • Be able to operate a computer

  • Needs to be able to hear others on the phone or in person/hear warning sounds from forklifts and other machinery

  • Needs to be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 lbs occasionally
