Job Description

Established Troy, MI law firm is looking for an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to collaborate on a large docket of 1st and 3rd Party No-Fault cases. Supporting attorneys, e-filing, calendar coordination, client management and assisting in docket management are the primary points of focus.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing the litigation calendars and administrative needs of multiple attorneys, as well as familiarity with the pre- and post-litigation rhythms of Michigan No-Fault cases. Attention to detail and the ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with opposing counsel, courts and their respective staffs are essential. Specific No-Fault litigation experience is highly desired, but not absolutely necessary if a candidate's administrative skills meet the required threshold.

Responsibilities include: typing, calendar management with a focus on litigation deadlines, communication with courts, opposing counsel and their respective staffs, coordinating record requests and depositions, file management (both physical and electronic), data entry and miscellaneous other responsibilities as needed.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs is essential, as is proficiency in Michigan and Federal e-filing systems. Familiarity with case management systems such as Prevail is highly desired. We are looking for candidates that are familiar with the Michigan Court Rules and the requirements and deadlines promulgated therein.
