Based in Sacramento, California, Trifecta is the largest meal delivery service made with organic ingredients in the US. We provide a full diet ecosystem, including a top 30 smartphone app, an industry leading nutrition program, and a variety of fully-cooked meal options. These are great for customers to choose from that match their ideal dietary and lifestyle goals from paleo, keto, vegan, and clean eating. We ship weekly, nationwide for free. The Director of People Operations is a newly created role that is essential to the growth, development, and scale of Trifecta. We are in hyper-growth mode after closing our Series B and need an experienced People Operations leader who can oversee the Human Resources and Recruiting teams and drive initiatives and process improvements. This is an exciting opportunity to help scale the company from under 100 employees to 200+ in 2022. The Director of People operations will provide creative insight on how to make improvements to policies and procedures as well as maintain positive culture and retention. This role will currently directly oversee a team of 3-5.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line leadership, guidance, and support for the recruiting and HR team to achieve hiring and retention targets.
  • Manage fast-growth recruiting and hiring initiatives with a clear hiring plan and KPIs
  • Build a candidate-centric recruiting experience and serve as the company’s culture advocate and brand builder to help attract the best and brightest talent to the organization.
  • Build and implement policies and process improvements for the entire department including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, trainings, compliance, and job leveling
  • Manage HR team and assist in employee relation investigations and provide resolution recommendations
  • Support and improve expansion of Trifecta through scalable people processes and solutions
  • Build out training modules and build a coaching culture within the People Ops team and throughout the organization
  • Bring the company culture to fruition through strategic “storytelling” by ensuring  the company values are reinforced with every initiative and communication.
  • Lead the Kaizen cross-functional team and be a culture warrior galvanizing the team to our core values of extreme ownership, kind candor, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with direct reports in recruiting and HR to align on goals and provide guidance to help them hit their goals
  • Work with Data team to provide People Ops and Leadership with useful data to help guide decision making and allow the company to scale  effectively and efficiently


  • 12+ years of total experience working in various aspects of Human Resources or People Operations
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • Experience working in a high growth startup environment is preferred
  • A solid understanding of California laws, policies, and regulations
  • A solid understanding of Injury and Illness Prevention Policies and OSHA reporting
  • Expertise in coaching management on people issue resolution
  • Ability to adapt and navigate changing employer environment and successfully lead change initiatives 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and departments
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
