Job Description The primary purpose of this job is to provide HRIS technical and clerical support for the department of Human Resources on behalf CEDCO & MEDC related entities. Serve as the department specialist for HRIS changes, new hire processing and record management across multiple entities. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee. Assist employees with consistent application of human resources practices through education and support of employment practices and programs; direct employee concerns to appropriate HR personnel. Update new hire packets in HRIS system as directed; assist in maintaining up to date forms in electronic format. Launch new hire packets in the HRIS system; follow up with candidates and hiring managers to ensure completion in a timely manner. Schedule and deliver onsite company orientation to new hires providing a warm and welcoming experience. Assemble new hire folders ensuring completion of the new hire check list. Ensure I-9 records and documents are handled efficiently and according to prescribed regulations. Manage casino signature card generation, tracking and distribution. Input data into HRIS system for new hires; terminations; position and company transfers; evaluation dates; address updates; and other status changes from approved actions forms by deadline. Create, file and maintain personnel and benefit folders and purge all termed personnel files and benefit records; arrange for storage and destruction of files per departmental policy. Assist with HRIS related benefit tasks as needed; provide clerical support for accident/incident tracking and inspections. Assist Recruitment Specialist with application review and assignment as assigned; may make job offers for assigned departments. Provide back up support for drug testing and background process. Enter status changes and other tracked information into excel spreadsheet from approved action forms and HRIS system for generating and emailing weekly and monthly reports. Perform employment verifications on the phone and in writing using the verification log and checking for appropriate releases. Generate purchase orders and maintain adequate supplies for the HR Department; responsible for organization of the supply area. Generate birthday, new hire and service anniversary lists and distribute according to practice. May provide clerical support for termination processing as needed. Provide support in planning and organizing employee appreciation and recognition events. Maintain an above-average understanding of the HRIS system, features and reports; generate routine and specialized HRIS reports as requested. Assist in maintaining an up to date bulletin board featuring HR activities and information. Aid in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for area of responsibility. Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS : High School Diploma or GED required. An undergraduate degree in human resources or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of related work experience and education/HR certification will be considered. 12 months work experience in human resources administration or a similar role processing employment records and confidential data required.
Experience welcoming and processing new hires is highly preferred. 12 months data entry, report generation and general HRIS or payroll system experience required; Paylocity experience highly preferred. Familiarity with benefit/payroll processing is a plus. PC skills to include proficiency in all MS Office applications with above average use of Excel spreadsheets. Ability to maintain confidence; ensure the protection and confidentiality of sensitive information; and use tact and discretion in a variety of situations is required. This position requires the ability to promote a professional work ethic. Candidate must have a record of having a friendly, approachable and trusting demeanor. Familiarity with federal employment law required; knowledge of Tribal employment law a plus. Work history must reflect positions with varied duties in a fast paced environment requiring prioritizing with varied deadlines. Must be detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task and handle frequent schedule changes and interruptions. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to accomplish set objectives. Must have a professional appearance and excellent oral and written communication skills to work with all levels of the organization. Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT : Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. This position may work in a shared office space with unscheduled visits from others.

Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
