Desktop Support Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is for a full-time, salaried, team member working on-site in Bergen County, NJ. This position is FLSA Exempt. Salary is commensurate with skill & experience. The position includes a company-sponsored healthcare plan (including dental benefits), 401K with matching, and Paid Time Off (PTO) including vacation and holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, documentation, and technical procedures. Ability to write business correspondence and basic technical documentation. Ability to effectively communicate, diagnose, and report on technical issues.
• Ability to create and maintain records & procedural documentation with organizational skills emphasized.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems as well as working knowledge of server tasks.
• Skills to troubleshoot & research hardware, software, printers, & basic IP networking problems.
• Candidate should be comfortable installing OS & application software from bare metal to deployment status.
• Supporting industry-specific applications/solutions.
NB: Most importantly this is a customer service position interacting with all levels of the client in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, organized follow-through, and a sense of urgency are qualities of a successful candidate. For a candidate eager to learn and develop their skillset this position offers the opportunity of experience and exposure to many different technologies and career paths (database administration, development, ERP/BI, and advanced networking/infrastructure.
 

HOURS & SCHEDULE: The nature of the IT industry occasionally demands after-hours work on nights and weekends. This type of work is usually minimal and can be planned with advance notice.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires working on a multi-building campus and mobility between buildings is key. Occasionally this position requires lifting computers, servers, and other network devices.
