Junior Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester

** Current Active IRS Minimum Background Investigation MBI/ 58C Tier 2RS clearance required. **

** Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizenship required for MBI/58C Tier 2RS. **

** An IRS Medium Risk MBI/58C Tier 2RS clearance is required on Day 1 to start. **

** Hybrid candidate should be located within 2 hours of DC area. ** 

TriTech Enterprise Systems, Inc. is actively seeking a Junior Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester. This candidate will understand Agile software development practices, delivering deployable software in short sprints. This candidate will also have the opportunity to work as an integral part of a testing team responsible for assuring the quality of the application capabilities for CDR and IRDB programs. This individual will work in close collaboration with software developers/engineers, stakeholders, and end users within Agile processes.

Duties:

1. Support the design and development of test cases to perform environment and system integration validation, including database/backend testing, ETL using Informatica, and web services technology – 40%
2. Support development and maintenance of unit test cases; test cases and/or user stories; and test reports – 20%
3. Support performance test execution in development, test, and production environments for each build, sprint, and release in the iterative development lifecycle – 20%
4. Support the development and maintenance of Defect Reports for development, test, and production environments for each build, sprint, and release in the iterative development lifecycle – 10%
5. Attend the daily and weekly SCRUM meetings to track product and defect backlogs. Provide action item lists within 24 hours of attendance – 10%

Required skills/Level of Experience:

1. Demonstrated Experience with testing database interfaces and Java applications on JBoss, and ETL (information) in a multi-release project environment – 1 to 3 years
2. Demonstrated experience with back-end testing along with sound experience in iterative methodologies (Agile/Scrum) – 1 to 3 years
3. Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of test cases for Unit Testing, System Integration testing, and Performance testing – 1 to 3 years
4. Expertise in creating the testing plan and test case for data warehouse applications including web services testing – 1 to 3 years
5. Demonstrated experience in Rational tools (testing and defect management): Rational Clear Quest, Rational Clear Case – 1 to 3 Years
6. Ability to write SQL queries in Oracle environment to conduct back-end testing and validation – 1 to 3 years
7. In-depth understanding of the software development life cycle for implementing Enterprise level systems – 1 to 3 years
8. Active IRS Medium Risk MBI clearance on Day 1 to start

Nice to have skills:

1. IRS system and data knowledge experience
2. SOA Test, SOAP Test
3. Rational Requisite Pro

Depending on the needs of the business, the worker may need to work at the IRS building in New Carrollton, MD 10% of the time and must be within a 2 hour commute time of DC area.   This can vary from week to week. ==============================================================================
