Director of Operations (DOO) consistently projects the company’s cornerstone principles of Trust, Relationships, and Integrity. The position’s ability to enhance the company brand is dependent upon the quality and ongoing development of personnel. The DOO is responsible for assigning appropriate teams to each project, periodically assessing staff strengths and weaknesses and achieving continuous, measurable improvements of staff’s interpersonal, professional, and technical skills.
This position requires a seasoned construction manager; one who constantly monitors the overall profitability and schedule of projects while simultaneously implementing changes that improve bottom line performance, brand reputation, and client experience. Providing a substantial resource of technical, strategic and procedural insight for their management teams, the DOO provides these resources with the intentions of growing the experience and capacity of their teams while also recruiting professionals to the company and developing teams in a scalable fashion.
Director of Operations shall supervise all operations personnel to include the Project Executive, Sr. Project Manager, Project Managers, and General Superintendent/Superintendent(s).

Marketing & Business Development
Develops targeted business development strategies as well as a strong team. Is the face of the company to the broader community and industry. Shall also engage in or manage business development activities.
Planning & Performance Goals
Leads corporate planning efforts. Prepares and presents a variety of business plans to include both short (1-year) and long-term (10-year). Ensures the business strategy is aligned with overall corporate strategic objectives. Sets operational and/or performance goals which are aggressive, achievable, and meet or exceed the company’s long-term goals.
Recognizes that the timely completion of our projects is paramount. Project delivery delays create unwelcome work for our clients, reflect poorly on the company brand and reduce the revenue generating capacity of our portfolio. Working with the operations team, the DOP monitors progress, identifies constraints and makes decisions to overcome scheduling challenges. Consistently monitors the operational performance of company projects. Evaluates reports, schedules and site conditions to discover opportunities to expedite delivery and/or reduce costs.

Is committed to maximizing the performance and profitability of company projects. Achieves and/or exceeds planned P&L objectives.

Meetings & Communications

Demonstrates working knowledge of and commitment to ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of fifteen years of verifiable construction industry experience AND bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field required
PMP Certification desired
Direct experience leading and managing +$5 million construction projects. Experience in commercial and design-build construction is required in two or more of the following sectors: hospitality, light industrial/manufacturing, retail/mixed-use, higher education, gaming and entertainment, municipal, Multi-Unit residential (mid-high rise), municipal, office, senior living, and tenant improvement.
Thorough knowledge of trades and computer literacy paramount to success. Office experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook) & Procore desired
Significant experience in business development with the proven ability to create targeted strategies, increase market share/revenue, and build strong teams; in-depth knowledge of the commercial market sector with a strong understanding of the competition’s strengths and weaknesses
