The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the Federal Contracting and procurement environment including reviewing and analyzing contract documentation to determine contractual obligations and risk mitigation. As a Subject Matter Expert, S/he will have a proven record of success in providing contractual advice to management, designing and implementing policies and procedures and overseeing the management of large, complex Federal contracts. The role will report to the President of KHI.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide cradle to grave support handling bid opportunities, proposal work, negotiations, contract award and administration of the resultant contracts
  • Serve as point of contact for customers both internal and external in regards to contractual matters.
  • Analyze and interpret federal government regulations including FAR and DFAR while ensuring compliance with DCAA.
  • Advise executive leadership and KHI management on contractual rights and obligations, and interpret terms and conditions.
  • Understand contractual opportunities and assist in the formulation of contract policies, procedures, methods, operating practices, and performance standards
  • Assist in planning and scheduling contract and regulatory compliance activities, including internal and external reviews and audits (e.g., DCAA and other independent agencies).
  • Negotiate, analyze, and provide input into the preparation and revision of contracts and subcontracts to ensure customer and corporate objectives are met
    • Convert the overall contract management strategy into effective and actionable plans for the company, including reaching out to strategic partners to establish relationships



Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and advanced degree is preferred
  • 5 years of experience within government contracting
  • Contracts Management certifications such as CPCM highly desired
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal contracting regulations, including FAR, DFAR, and agency unique supplements
  • Able to make tactical decisions quickly always considering the strategic direction
  • Management experience leading teams supporting government contracts
  • Great communicator with excellent written and verbal skills and good presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship builder
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data sets to determine trends, establish strategies, and make decisions
  • High level of competency and experience working in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Highly organized and responsive
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, in a team, and independently
