Who You Are

You are one who supports the Vice President of the department in executing against new initiatives developed by the organization. You can manage logistics associated with marque initiatives of the organization, develop high stakes partnerships, assist with coordinating internal support, and manage follow up related with commitments made by the organization. You act on behalf of the Vice President internally and externally to move initiatives forward in a timely manner. The individual will perform substantial diligence with limited guidance on new initiatives, best practices and trends in relevant industries, and new partner organization / opportunities. You operate with a high degree of autonomy in a constantly changing environment and will be expected to perform duties at inconsistent hours and with limited direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position incumbent is expected to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities of the position with reasonable accommodation.

  • Manages the scheduling, preparation, logistics, and follow up for engagements, events, and meetings associated with Trellis strategic initiatives. Ultimately lead the discussion and presentation of selected engagements, events, and initiatives.
  • Inform and delegate required activities to internal stakeholders. Develop project plans and hold internal business units accountable to deadlines and deliverables. Provide on-going status updates on initiatives to executive leadership.
  • Actively engage with external stakeholders to develop, formalize, and implement new initiatives and partnerships. Regularly engage with senior leadership at various organizations throughout this process.
  • Regularly document takeaways and deliverables from meetings. Oversee the follow up and drafting of relevant documents following meetings.
  • Regularly perform individual research and analysis on national trends, individual initiatives, and potential partner organizations and competitors.
  • Serve as proxy for the Vice President in delegated internal and external meetings. Provide feedback on initiatives, progress, and opportunities. Lead specific strategic planning exercises.
  • Draft and manage content for executive thought leadership and communication.
  • Make prioritization decisions on behalf and in absence of the Vice President.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works under minimal supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Responds to internal and external request and triages priorities for the Vice President
  • Supports internal training and development efforts related to new initiatives
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Detail-oriented skills, effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, ability to prioritize conflicting demands, organize time and resources to ensure delivery of solid and consistent results for the business and bring projects to successful completion.

Qualifications

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, social sciences, economics, statistics, public policy, or other related area.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, social sciences, economics, statistics, public policy, or other related area.

Experience

Required:

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in:
    1. Client relationship management
    2. Managing complex partnerships involving multiple stakeholders
    3. Logistics management related to effective flow of services and information
    4. Project management experience within a complex organization
    5. Inter-departmental project development experience

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting historically under-resourced and under-served institutions of higher education.
  • Experience working in institutional research, enrollment management, student affairs, academic affairs, or student services.
  • Experience working with sensitive (including NPI and PII) student data.
  • Experience in student success / retention initiatives.
  • Experience with consulting or other client facing engagement work.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Occasionally must move about inside the office.
  • Repetitive motion. Regularly operates a computer, phone, and general office equipment.
  • Regularly required to handle, feel, grasp objects, and reach across a work area.
  • Regularly communicates with other employees and on the phone, virtually, or in person with clients. Regularly converses with internal and external contacts.
  • Visual acuity. Regularly must have close visual acuity to view and enter information into computer and software systems, analyze data, develop presentations and reports, and other materials.
  • Mental focus. Requires worker to maintain focus and exchange detailed and accurate information through oral and written communication.
  • Must be able to provide presentations and services to clients in a variety of business and work settings.


Work Environment

  • Work may be conducted remotely or in an office with a surrounding small cubicle environment.
  • Office work environment is climate controlled with no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
