Mgr, Accounting Specialist
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and approve complex financial activities for various lines of business including journal entries and account reconciliations. Conduct a detailed review for accuracy and completeness and approve internal management based financial reporting, both routine and ad hoc for complete and consistent results with corporate policies and standards. Prepare and review external financial statements including, but not limited to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SEC and STAT (Statutory Accounting Principles). Perform and review financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Identify and maximize tools to obtain data necessary to support financial analysis and create financial transactions. Responsibilities may include extracting and analyzing data. Develop complex financial analyses for key performance metrics (i.e. production, profitability, expense management, staffing). Validate analyses. Prepare and review more complex documentation to support Internal and External Audits. May interact with internal auditors. Prepare components of overall business and financial plan, budget and forecasts for the organization. Lead projects that involve complex analysis and implementation of non-complex, routine business and financial regulatory changes relating to financial reporting. For example, business reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, new accounting standards, etc. Maintain compliance with various financial external regulatory requirements and internal accounting policies. Apply basic accounting and financial concepts and controls to support the development, implementation or enhancement to financial systems and processes. (SME) for non-complex issues. Other duties as assigned.

Finance and Accounting
Under General Supervision, performs professional accounting work to ensure current, accurate and complete financial information. Develops and creates complex analysis and reports. Position does not manage others. General Supervision: Incumbent independently performs a variety of duties, including potentially complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments; is expected to set priorities and meet specific goals and objectives of the function or unit.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred. Typically 4+ years of related work experience. General knowledge of accounting theory and practice. General Knowledge: Possesses sufficient knowledge to perform most work in normal situations.

Minimum 3 years of related work experience.

Licensing or Certificates:
Attained professional designation (CPA, CMA or AIAF) or comparable advanced professional education preferred.
