Job Overview
The Project Manager will lead capital projects through development, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning with an emphasis on safety, quality, budget, and on-time completion. The position requires implementing sound management and engineering principles to ensure project designs are at the industry’s cutting edge. Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills are a must in this highly collaborative role.
Reports To
The Project Manager will report to the Project Director, working collaboratively as a member of the Project Management team
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage projects toward on-time and on-budget completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Manage both prime and subcontract compliance.
- Develop and review job costs and forecasts for monthly reports.
- Oversee the preparation of engineering drawings for permitting, estimating, and construction.
- Prepare and track purchase requests and orders for materials and services. Coordinate FAT & Site Acceptance of equipment.
- Take ownership of construction support. (RFIs, Submittals, Transmittals, QA/QC, Turnover packages, etc.)
- Collaborate with start-up and commissioning teams.
- Have a willingness and ability to respond to urgent issues outside normal business hours.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years as a project manager for industrial projects valued at $10MM to $50MM.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering and construction processes, codes, and best practices.
- Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Project or other project management/scheduling software.
- Valid driver’s license for state of residence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Accreditation in Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, or other relevant methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or project management from an accredited university.
