Job Description

The Network Operations Support Specialist provides event monitoring, ticketing, technical assistance, escalation and follow through on events in the network operations systems. Work with customer information technology and facilities departments. Work in 24-hour, seven day a week shift rotation, 365 days a year including holidays. Personnel will work alone during non-business hour shifts. Answers questions or resolve issues for customers via telephone or electronically. Provide assistance concerning network operations, computer systems operations, and facilities. Work will be performed at the Transformyx Network Operations Center.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the daily performance of systems be monitored.
  • Respond to alerts, answer inquiries, and perform escalations and follow-up to resolve issues.
  • Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect error.
  • Maintain records of incidents, service request, projects, problems, and remedial actions taken.
  • Read technical knowledge bases, confer with specialists, or conduct diagnostics to investigate and resolve incidents and problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Refer major incidents subject matter expert technicians for service.
  • Confer with staff and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Assist in building knowledge base using knowledge centered principles.
  • Perform other task assigned by supervisor.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Works alone during non-business hours.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work: 7 days a week 365 days a year rotating shifts including holidays.

This position does not require travel.
