Job Summary

TransTech’s Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the development, refinement, and construction of LPG storage and handling systems for downstream facilities. The Project Engineer will work closely with our Project Management team, Engineering, and Business Development teams.

Primary functions and duties:

  • Work with our internal team and our clients on multiple projects to ultimately solve their problems using management techniques and principles
  • Assist with developing project budgets and monitor/measure project expenditures to ensure project is delivered on budget
  • Develop and maintain project schedule and Gantt chart
  • Facilitate communication with the client’s project team and TransTech’s project team during the life of the project
  • Source and manage outside contractors as required for projects including verifying scope documents
  • Coordinate with engineering the required drafting and design resources specific to the project
  • Support clients with improving the current performance of their facilities
  • Participate in initial site visits/evaluations and final review of quotes and proposals
  • Manage the workflow for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate the commissioning and start-up activities
  • Verifying punch list items at project completion and completing project turn over package
  • Processing and managing change orders
  • Create general arrangement, piping design and structural design drawings based on P&ID
  • Create BOM
  • Work closely with Sr. CAD Designer, Engineers, and Project Managers to assemble technical document packages, including P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and manufacturer specification sheets
  • Create, review and update required submittal documentation for all technical document packages
  • Work with internal/external customers and vendors to ensure all drawings and submittal packages are accurate and complete per the requested design criteria
  • Maintain records and revision history, including the release and update of all engineering documents, work instructions and other paper or electronic documents

The ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management
  • 1 to 3 years of experience managing projects up to $500,000
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • A working knowledge of ASME, API & NFPA codes
  • Industry experience in Oil & Gas, Gas Processing, Energy or Construction
  • Candidate should be able to think critically and work without supervision
  • Field experience preferred
  • Data analytics experience preferred
  • Plant 3D design experience is a must
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, mechanical design, and technical document administration
  • Proficient in 3D modeling using AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • Travel required
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
