Serviceperson I (Parks/Buildings/Grounds)

Wages/Hours: $25.25 - $29.55/Hr. (2023) / 40 Hrs./Wk.

Position Description: Performs semi-skilled work under limited supervision. Maintains Town of Steilacoom facilities, parks, and grounds according to Town standards. This includes emptying trash receptacles, cleaning park restrooms, mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning, fertilizing, and aerating public grounds/parks.

Seasonal Maintenance Workers Wages/Hours: $19.56 - $22.90 / Hour (2023)

(1 six-month position-primary focus parks: April - October)

(2 three-month positions-primary focus parks: June - August)

(2 three-month positions-primary focus streets: June - August)

Position Description: Perform semi-skilled work under limited supervision. The Maintenance Worker, whose primary focus is parks, will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance/repair of the Town’s parks, buildings, and grounds. This individual may be called upon to mow, trim, weed, prune, aerate public grounds/parks, and assist in the collection of litter/cleaning of park restrooms. The Maintenance Worker, whose primary focus is streets, may be called upon to assist in the maintenance/repair of streets, and perform flagger duties.

Facility Attendant (Part-time)

Wages: $16.43 - $19.22 per hour (2023)

Hours: Hours worked in this position vary according to scheduled classes, activities, and events. The incumbent may staff the front desk at the Steilacoom Community Center various days Monday – Thursday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The incumbent may be asked to work occasional day hours in the absence of full-time staff, work an occasional Sunday (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.), or oversee facility rentals at the Steilacoom
