Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for guiding projects from start to finish. The candidate we are seeking is a very passionate and highly driven individual who gets excited about managing project activities from start to finish. The PM must be a proactive individual who will build and maintain positive relationships with clients, internal and external designers and engineers, field operations teams, subcontractors, vendors, and jurisdictional authorities to ultimately help our clients be successful in achieving their goals. This person must have an ability to establish strong rapport with other employees and develop an understanding of the roles these individuals play within the organization. The PM will learn the T&S procedures of accounting, estimating, design, engineering, and construction as well as bring their own experience to help improve our processes. This role must negotiate fairly and effectively with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Play an active role in the development of project proposals.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Coordinate the design, engineering, and preconstruction process by working with clients and internal/external teams.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the preconstruction and construction schedule.
  • Responsible for managing a project from start to finish.
  • Create and manage budget throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Effectively negotiate subcontract change orders, subcontract purchase orders, and owner change orders.
  • Prepare and present forecasts.
  • Conduct routine quality assurance field visits.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and review of project managers, project engineers, and project coordinators.
  • Manage daily team issues.

 

Position Qualifications:

Experience

  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience in the construction industry.
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience is required
  • Agri-industrial experience is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to understand when to communicate updates, issues, and recommendations.
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
  • Basic understanding of Navisworks 3D BIM software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability of taking initiative and openness to continuous learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both in a team and individually.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a timely manner.

Other Expectations

  • Travel and overnight travel will be required as necessary.
  • Participate in industry, civic, and social activities to foster relationships.
  • Valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport for Canadian travel is required.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

 

Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Optional "Summer" schedule is Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. May have potential for some schedule flexibility.
