Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for selling the Company's products and services to external customers. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for searching and finding new customers, educating existing customers on our products and services, developing relationships, and meeting sales goals. The Outside Sales Representative will implement sales strategies, monitor and analyze sales goals, and work closely with strategic accounts.Responsibilities: Promote the Company's products and services to new and existing customers.Travel to customer sites to promote the company product lines and capabilities, network with end users to develop new accounts, qualify leads, manage the customer through a sales process, generate bookings, and conduct follow ups to ensure customer satisfaction.Participate in sales planning activities.
Develop and manage sales forecast within customer base.Meet sales and gross profit objectives.Foster a positive business relationship by personally building goodwill and developing account rapport; meet customer contact requirements as determined by the Sales Manager. Summarize highlights of customer visits by submitting weekly sales activity reports.Maintain a system for time and account management, such as:Account analysis, including recommending price adjustments, setting call frequencies, etc.Setting travel schedules to contact customers. This should include monthly customer visitation schedules to ensure adequate customer contact.
Account strategy for 80/20 (Top Percentage) accounts. Develop customer profiles on all accounts to include such things as: sales history of steel purchased, type of business, products produced, company officers, seasonal production demands, product decision makers, and other relevant data.Maintain judicious use of company expenses and submit vouchers on a timely basis.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:Education requirements:Bachelor's degree in business (preferred).High School Diploma or equivalent required.Self-starter who requires minimal day to day management to perform sales activities.Ability to develop, organize and present products and services to individuals and medium size groups.Ability to complete continuing education (in-person or online).Excellent communication (verbal and written) and ability to interact on a technical level with internal and external personnel.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience working with ERP systems (preferred)Previous sales/customer service experience (preferred)Experience in steel industry (preferred)Analytical and detail orientedThusa is dedicated to delivering holistic solutions through our customized qualifying methods in which we make the upfront investment to thoroughly qualify our talent.
