Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a QA Supervisor. This candidate is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Quality Assurance programs. Manages and directs the Quality Assurance department ensuring technicians are performing inspection of finished products, completing all necessary documentation, and properly maintaining their equipment while performing their duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Manages the final quality inspection of finished products in accordance with established procedures.
Manages, investigates, and documents all instances of rejected product or raw material problems in daily production report.
Reviews inspects incoming raw materials as materials are received.
Manages the process by which the appropriate information is documented for quality inspection reports for each order.
Resolves customer complaints or problems in regard to rejected or non-conforming product.
Reports any unusual discrepancies or problems promptly to Plant Manager/GM.
Suggests new testing or inspection methods to minimize inspection efforts required.
Trains or directs new hires in quality control concepts as requested.
Responsible for ongoing management of current employees to ensure they are up to date with current quality requirements.
Performs necessary maintenance of equipment as needed.
Remains current on quality control practices and trends through publications, seminars, conferences and related trade shows.
Current (American Welding Society) - "AWS CWI" required.
Demonstrate (3+ years) of Quality Management experience in either a Supervisor or Manger's role
(National Association of Corrosion Engineers) "NACE" Coatings inspector, either CIP Level 1 or Level 2
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Steel fabrication, manufacturing, or construction.
While working as part of a team, candidate must have the ability to influence and lead a diverse group in a fast paced environment.
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, codes and standards while leading the implementation and accurate reporting and documentation of project specific requirements.
Demonstrated success in communicating, managing, documenting and reporting the fulfillment of specific project requirements. Within the organization, and to external client based sources.
Demonstrated success in communicating with client owners, engineers, and 3rd party inspectors.
Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, crew and coworkers is crucial.
Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential.
Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 40% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, office equipment, computers and other office productivity devices, attending meetings, etc.) is required.
Using a computer while sitting for extended periods of time is common.
Must be able to position self to maintain equipment, including under tables and desks.
No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of 20 lbs. of force.
Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment.
