A Private Equity Firm that has invested over $1B into the renewable energy transition across the United States is seeking to grow their organization with the addition of a Project Development Asset Manager.   The company has solid capital and has successfully invested in energy infrastructure for over 10 years. Their goal is to acquire late stage projects and facilitate development from NTP/Pre-NTP through through to COD. They also monitor the success of assets during O&M phases as part of the operating portfolio. Other key clean energy investments that they are involved in include infrastructure for electric vehicles and utility-scale battery storage. 

The role will be tasked with managing up to multiple projects concurrently to drive late stage project development, engineering/EPC, O&M initiatives pertaining to pre construction, project finance, permitting, PPA, interconnection, and monitoring success of the asset after it is operational through the O&M Team. 

An ideal candidate needs to be based in California and/or have significant experience developing projects in state of California dealing Electrical Utilities and regional US Power Markets like CAISO andWECC.  significant to maintain and grow various solar and renewable assets for the companies investment portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Leads the development and implementation of project scopes, schedules, budgets, as well as resource allocation/management for projects (utility-scale solar, battery storage, EV..etc)
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Progresses and tracks the success of multiple projects through late stage development, EPC, construction, turnover, and O&M phases
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Acts as SME for internal and external stakeholders regarding clean energy infrastructure development, construction, and asset management
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Drives pre construction, interconnection, permitting, finance, and other late stage solar/battery storage project development initiatives 
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Plays a proactive role in the EPC Design review process to ensure project are optimized for success
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Works cross-functionally to ensure project transmission interconnection requirements are met based ISO/RTO needs (CAISO, WECC, PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO..etc)
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Builds and manages relationships with internal (construction, finance, etc.) as well as external (off takers, utilities, government / community) stakeholders to drive project success
  • Renewable Project Development Asset Manager / Project Manager - Fosters and maintains relationships with California utilities to ensure the long term portfolio success through the operational life of the assets past COD

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related field; PMP certification a HUGE PLUS
  • 5+ years Project Development / Project Management experience dealing with community solar development, C&I renewables, real estate project management, or related clean energy infrastructure
  • Experience with with utility-scale project power market interconnection requirements - WECC and CAISO (HIGHLY PREFERRED) 
  • Previous experience with electrical utilities in California on project execution 
  • Experience in late stage project development: permitting, site lease, real estate, off--take negotiation, interconnection, PPA, etc. 
  • Understanding of project finance principals (debt, equity, tax incentives, etc) for energy infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of the EPC Design process for project optimization purposes; Proficiency with PVsyst software is a HUGE plus
  • Candidates that have worked in the following roles for renewable, utility, or clean energy companies would be ideal: Solar Project Developer, Project Manager, Renewables Project Developer, Asset Manager, Late Stage Project Developer,  Project Development Manager, Development Asset Manager, EV Project Developer
