National Storm Response - Damage Evaluator
Job Description:
Think Power Solutions is seeking qualified electrical professionals to join our growing National Storm Response organization. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in restoring electric service to communities and businesses following storm related outages throughout the country. Our storm responders are onboarded virtually as W2 employees for every mobilization with pay and expense reimbursement every two weeks.
Responsibilities:
Damage Evaluators (DEs) are expected to safely perform tasks related to post-storm patrol and assessment of overhead distribution. DEs identify and assess damaged distribution infrastructure and provide detailed updates via mobile applications. DEs may be required to work extended hours in inclement weather. DEs will be trained on applicable safety protocol for the host utility and Think Power Solutions.
Base Qualifications:
- Electric lineman or equivalent electric utility experience
- Ability to mobilize quickly following a storm event
- Ability to communicate and work with remote teams
- Physically able to work extended hours under adverse conditions
- Proficient with mobile technology and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
- Four-wheel drive truck or SUV
- Smart phone with data plan
- Ability to pay incurred travel and meal expenses
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Previous storm assessment experience
Work Environment:
- When mobilized, plan on being on site for an extended period
- Travel requirements: 100%
- Work schedule varies and may include weekends, nights, and holidays
Compensation:
- Pay = $40-$60/hour door-to-door (commensurate with experience)
- Vehicle Allowance = $10-$15/hour
- $50/month data stipend
- Lodging and per diem as appropriate (lodging typically provided)
Opportunity for Partnering:
Our Storm Response organization is also in need of Drivers. Drivers are paired with DEs and the two operate as a team. Drivers need clean driving records, but technical backgrounds are NOT required. We are open to recommendations for Drivers who would serve as good partners to our DEs.
