Resident Care Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for assuring high quality resident care by managing the medication room, its related paper work and the personal care staff. The RCC is required to be able to run the facility in the Administrator's absence. The RCC reports to the Administrator.


  • Minimum of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma is required.
  • 2-year college degree and/or a license in a related field is preferred


-_ Minimum of 1-year experience in a related field is preferred_

Required Skills:

  • Compassion and the ability to work with the geriatric and/or mental health population.
  • Ability to motivate, direct and manage the personal care aides.
  • Basic understanding of medications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the facility in maintaining compliance with all applicable codes, rules and regulations.
  • Support the Administrator by following and reinforcing all policies and procedures.
  • Treat all written and oral communication concerning residents and/or staff as confidential.
  • Assist the Administrator in creating a positive, healthy, cheerful, warm atmosphere for the residents
  • Coordinate the physical and mental health needs of each resident by making appointments,
  • Transportation arrangements, completing paper work for appointments and obtaining medications as prescribed from the appropriate pharmacy.
  • Participation in the training and orientation of new staff.
  • Maintenance of positive relationships with agencies, pharmacies and physicians.
  • Completion of documentation in a timely manner.
  • Completion of other tasks as assigned by the Administrator or as the need arises.
