Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer

Leading manufacturer of products used in global industrial, municipal, commercial and institutional applications.


Position

The position will be responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, product design, materials and parts.

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to all areas of Spencer Turbine’s manufacturing production lines on a timely basis
  • Continuously improve current production methods using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, quality control standards, and other related metrics
  • Audit data collection and production history systems for accuracy; analyze and prepare actions for corrective measures
  • Develop and maintain quality and reliable cycle time standards
  • Implement standard work corrective measures working with the sales, operations, planning, purchasing, etc. teams
  • Analyze operations using the appropriate tools to evaluate opportunities for capital projects, improved methods, and productivity throughout the business.
  • Lead in the development of manufacturing methods by establishing reliable operating procedures, and equipment layouts.
  • Participate in new products from R&D into production following toll gate processes.
  • Perform Manufacturing Engineering work such as develop new processes by using studies and work sampling to determine work loads and best methods

Requirements

 

  • BS in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years of hands-on Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Lean manufacturing background with applied knowledge
  • CNC Programming knowledge required, AutoCAD Inventor knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability with Six sigma or green belt knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite, CAD, CADCAM and MRP applications
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with team members to complete tasks in timely manner
  • Self-motivated, hard-working, goal oriented, task focused, and a reliable team player
  • Solid time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities with available resources
