Job Description: Marketing and Program Coordinator Sarasota-Manatee Originals – Sarasota, FL About Sarasota-Manatee Originals The Sarasota-Manatee Originals (SMO) is a not for profit member-driven marketing group. Our members are locally owned restaurants in the Sarasota and Manatee communities, with over 60 member restaurants. The Sarasota-Manatee Originals host an annual food and wine festival and cocktail competition. Our Mission Statement: The Sarasota-Manatee Originals exists to promote dining in independently owned restaurants and collaborates to serve the interests of the independent restaurateur in our community. About Marketing and Program Coordinator Position The Marketing and Program Coordinator will facilitate and stratagize marketing campaigns, manage social media platforms, lead projects, and assist in event execution. This is an excellent mid-level opportunity for a Marketing/Program professional. We provide paid time off and flexible hours for a healthy work/life balance. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Marketing Duties: · Cultivate and manage website content and blogs · Update website as needed · Manage email marketing; including newsletters, eBlasts; maintaining annual schedule and track results · Handle social media content and marketing, develop robust social media schedule, manage social media advertising on various platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. · Maintain the SMO event online calendar · Develop marketing campaigns, promotional materials, press releases and media relations content · Represent the Sarasota Manatee Originals (SMO) and its point of view at various public functions, agencies, community/business networking events, and industry- related organizations · Assist with cultivating relationships with publications/media and maintain positive and open lines of communication on behalf of SMO · Attend continued educational meetings, seminars, workshops as assigned · Assist with promotional materials and print campaigns for SMO events · Maintain records related to marketing campaigns and projects · Work alongside Executive Director on maintaining annual marketing budget · Assist with any other marketing projects/tasks as assigned Program Duties: · Manage donations requests, correspondence and distribution of donations · Act as membership liaison for group members · Schedule and coordinate photo shoots, provide copywriting for each · Manage, collect and update member information · Handle customer service relations: members, media, community · Assist to promote active member participation · Assist with business partners and vendors as needed · Maintain records and reports related to SMO programs · Assist with any other program tasks as assigned Special Event Duties: · Assist in event planning, preparation and execution · Participate as a member of the Executive Committee for special events as required · Create and execute special event marketing campaigns · Assist in marketing and public relations in the advertising and marketing of events · Maintain records and reports related to special events marketing · Assist with any other special event tasks as assigned Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Administrative duties · General office duties including but not limited to: sorting mail, filing invoices, answering phones, basic office organization, ordering supplies, updating all necessary forms and contacts as related to marketing and public relations database · Contact and Event database management Qualifications The ideal candidate has: · Bachelor’s degree in marketing/mass communications or similar field · Ability to work on multiple tasks with predetermined deadlines · Effective written and verbal communication skills /engaging public speaking skills · Passion for local food /restaurant experience · Rigorous organization and project management skills · Self-motivated with equal comfort working independently and on teams · Organized and effective time management skills · Detail oriented with strong proofreading and editing skills · Quick thinker, learner and solutions-oriented problem solver · Willing and able to take direction · Ability to problem solve on your feet and experience with crowd management and high stress conditions · An open mind with a willingness to learn · Excellent customer service skills · Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Constant Contact or similar email marketing database · Experience with blogs and a social media enthusiast on various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) Working conditions Full time, flexible hours with ability to work irregular hours during special events. Will be required to be on-site for the full duration of all events. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s required. Physical requirements Position does require ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavy objects, event set-up, and ability to be on your feet for long periods of time. This position will assist with all aspects of events including truck loading, packing supplies, and unpacking. Physical labor will be required during events.
