Salary and Grade: $50.670.67 annual; 12 Exempt

Description of Position: The Assistant IDD Program Director will assist with the administrative and programmatic
work for a 24-hour-a-day operation overseeing and coordinating staffing and a wide array of other supports for
persons with intellectual disabilities who are residing in residential programs in Bucks County. Work requires flexible
scheduling to encompass some evenings and weekends as necessary to provide appropriate oversight of the program
and to ensure emergency response is available to meet health and safety needs. Travel throughout Bucks as well as to
our Philadelphia office to coordinate and integrate the program with departmental objectives and to provide
appropriate oversight of the program is also required. Duties encompass the production of numerous reports as the
position encompasses the Program Specialist duties as defined by licensing regulations.
Requirements: A Master’s degree in Human Services field/area and 6 years administrative/supervisory experience is
the minimum required for the Assistant IDD Program Director or BA and equivalent. Excellent writing skills required.
Experience with a wide range of persons with intellectual disabilities and/or autism and their concomitant
Service needs/treatment preferred --especially dually diagnosed, multiply handicapped, and persons with challenging
behavior problems, etc. Ability to track and organize massive amounts of information to meet both the individual’s
and State requirements, as well as efficient use of personnel time. Experience with a wide range of support services
(e.g. varying models of residential services, specialized therapies, supported employment, natural home supports,
vocational programming, job development and job support, etc). Ability to work with families, teams and funding
sources in a cooperative and respectful manner and effectively maximize support from these sources. Commitment to
quality services focused on the individuals we serve and implementation of State and Department initiatives in
Quality, as well as maintenance of all certification and licensing requirements. Individual should have a commitment
to participatory management/total quality management style, as well as the ability to provide assistance and oversight
of fiscal operations/expenses (e.g. staff schedules, cost effectiveness). Ability to anticipate problems and to initiate
problem solving and new projects and carry them to completion. Ability to provide programmatic and training
supports to staff and individuals served. It is essential to support The Salvation Army by having an appreciation and
