General Manager

Position Description

Title: General Manager

Department: Store Operations Level: Managerial

Reports to: Regional Manager Exempt

Essential Purpose of Position:

Responsible for leading all aspects of store operations with a primary focus on continuously improving the sales and profitability of the store and building customer loyalty by providing outstanding customer service and repeat customer satisfaction. Follows direction set by the VP of Sales. Leads store by planning, directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies of the Company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide the overall leadership and direction for the store.
  2. Coach, develop, and provide feedback to the management team.
  3. Provide customer service to customer inquiries and, problems, etc., in a professional and responsive manner.
  4. Ensure the overall sales and profitability goals for the store are met by 1) Development in alignment with growth objectives: 2) Overseeing the daily operation of the store and assuring compliance with company guidelines and policies and procedures.
  5. Lead the day-to day operations of the store. Assist with driving performance metrics and results and achieving the stores delivered and written budget and goals.
  6. Coach sales staff to effectively develop a repeat customer base by building long term customer loyalty relationships.
  7. Prepare and monitor budgets and compare them with actual costs and revenues to ensure that the store constantly improves profitability.
  8. Develop and implement consistent policies, procedures and implement key performance measures and controls.
  9. Actively source and recruit qualified candidates to meet the stores needs and reduce turnover while maintaining a bench for future talent needs.
  10. Performs additional duties as required or requested.

Qualifications:

  1. Must have a Degree in Retail Administration or equivalent field or significant retail management experience.
  2. Must have outstanding Leadership Skills in order to attain a successful and cohesive staff.
  3. Able to lead, motivate, influence peers, customers, and employees.
  4. Multitask, exercise self-discipline and works well under pressure.
  5. Strong interpersonal, analytical, communication, organization and follow-though skills.
  6. Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, understand material, and people skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to coach, train, mentor and manage staff in a big ticket commissioned environment.
  8. Must have demonstrated proficiency with computer applications to run reports and other store procedures/operations.
  9. Planning, administrative, and organizational skills and skills in making calculations
  10. Bilingual spoken fluency in languages of local store market highly preferred
