IT Development Manager

Description:The IT Development Manager reports to the Director of IT and Security and will oversee the work done by our IT Development Team and work with stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain applications to fulfill our business needs and improve processes. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining associated backend systems and databases and developing short and long term strategies for the success and betterment of the department and company.Responsibilities: Manage the IT Development Team, hiring, coaching and developing staff members through performance management, goal setting, training and effective employee relations Oversee the quality and quantity of work produced by the IT Development Team Monitor internal policies and procedures to ensure IT Development Team service levels meet or exceed commitments made to customers Prepare and manage annual IT Development Team budget Manage RPA projects, maintenance, procedures and initiatives Project management of development projects Management and administration of databases Manage deployment activities related to system implementation, upgrades, and installation of applications and software while minimizing system downtime Analyze, document, and optimize business and technical processes Develop and maintain custom built applications, sometimes connecting to varying databases using APIs Work closely with third party developers. Respond to business requirements and recommend enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of their software in our environment Oversee company reporting needs Engagement in projects from initial concept through solution delivery Triage helpdesk support tickets for custom built applications Exercise and coach staff on effective time management and judgement skills Oversee end user training on applicable applications and best practices Communicate effectively and tactfully, both written and verbally, with internal office staff and external vendors Outstanding TRA Corporate Citizen dedicated to maintaining TRA's reputation at all times in the communities we touch Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assignedExperience and Skills:Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years of experience in programming and development and IT related degree or certifications 1 year of leadership or management experience Experience with common programming languages such as C#, T-SQL, HTML, JavaScript Experience with REST APIs and JavaScript frameworks a plus Thorough understanding of relational databases and queries Knowledge of industry best practices and security protocols Automation, scripting, and programing competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation skills Vigorous attention to detail and quality* Must be able to balance working independently and working in a team environment, all within a fast paced and deadline oriented business environment
