Full Stack Developer
- Expired: April 02, 2022. Applications are no longer accepted.
The Refinery is seeking an individual to join our team as a Senior Developer, with a diverse skill set, to join our largely Cleveland/Akron based office. The right individual needs a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a professional setting.
"Seems like a wide range", you say? Yep, it is. We're looking for the right culture fit more than a programming language. A seasoned developer with a willingness and desire to learn another language.
We expect our developers to communicate and coordinate with the rest of the team (designers, project manager, client side team, etc.). We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about the details which take development from good to great. We want to hire someone with a passion for their craft who values learning and seeks growth as part of the vision for their career.
Refinery developers are responsible for translating designs and wireframes into high quality code and for optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
We want an organized self-starter that can embrace some of the ambiguity that can come from working with clients to deliver their vision. The Refinery is a team and we are seeking an addition to that team who can collaborate both with our internal stakeholders and clients, and is comfortable presenting–and defending–their ideas to other developers, project managers, and clients. Above all we are seeking someone who is focused on problem solving for people through research, design, and iteration.
Our team works with clients to create interfaces that are attractive, useful, and usable. We do this by ensuring that our designers and developers are working in tandem to execute designs that match the intent.
As a member of our team, you must be prepared to provide exceptional service to our clients. This means clear and timely communication, listening eagerly for feedback, asking smart questions, defending your ideas, and going the extra mile to find answers to questions you don’t know intuitively.
- Coding skills across the full-stack
- Integration and development on top of content management systems (CMS) in this same technology stack
- Understanding of React.js and its core principles
- Ability to provide good faith estimates to work, while communicating related risks or other related concerns
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization
- A solid experience with and understanding of Git
- Ability to work with internal and external teams to diagnose and resolve bugs and support requests
Additional Desirable Skills
- Strong demonstrated ability to maintain and update a plan regularly
- Familiarity with building HIPPA compliant platforms or experience with medical software is a plus
We’re looking for a team player. Someone with heart, passion for what they do and a desire to work with like-minded individuals who want to work smart and work hard for our clients but do so in a collaborative environment and have fun while they’re doing it.
Even before a global pandemic, we were a company who believed in treating our team like adult humans. We allow the team to work remote, flex their time and collaborate when they need to without making everything a meeting. The product (good work) is more important than us micromanaging you in how you get there.
We’ll be working together 5 days a week and we want someone who adds to the culture of our company and engages in the occasional gif battle via chat or team banter about the game last night. You’re joining a team, be prepared to be part of that team, not just a cubicle dweller (PS we don’t have cubicles). Soulless zombies and Steelers fans need not apply.
What’s in it for you?
We offer a competitive salary and benefits, opportunities to work remotely, and the chance to do amazing work with some really stellar people who enjoy what they do.
