Job Description



The primary responsibilities of this role, Lead Electrical and Instrument Reliability, are to:

•Work as a member of reliability and maintenance teams to maintain and improve plant reliability, seek out and manage focused improvement projects, improve and maintain plant maintenance efficiency and run-time
•Develop maintenance project scope and design
•Develop business cases for improvement expenses
•Produce appropriate documentation for project closure and historical records
•Develop detailed E&I design and implementation phases for assigned projects, improvements, or repairs. Including concept development, estimating, basic engineering, detailed engineering procurement, and construction. Electrical infrastructure voltages range from 480V to 4160V (medium voltage) to 137KV (high voltage) from our sub-station
•Direct designers/drafters in the creation/modification of various types of E&I drawings in support of assigned projects
•Manage E&I work during construction phase of projects. Including supervision of contract resources and coordination with other members of the project team and maintenance/operations personnel
•Interface with other area engineering disciplines/departments, customers, and vendors, 3rd party contractors and other skilled trade groups to ensure scope of work and execution of projects are correct and agreeable to all parties
•Prepare maintenance plans for restoring equipment and processes to operating condition while balancing repair cost and minimizing future failures
•Create and modify documentation related to process operation, safety and applicable regulations as needed – including electrical drawings and engineering flow diagrams/P&ID diagrams
•Create documentation required for project closure including MOC data and appropriate project files
•Support and mentor E&I technicians and interns as needed
•Along with the Health and Safety Group, ensure electrical safety and compliance with NFPA70e. Maintain site technical documentation, i.e. Arc Flash Study, One-Line diagrams, Load Studies, etc.
•Comply with plant safety rules and actively work to improve safety through coaching or engineered improvements
•Possess a working knowledge of engineering tools and software and ability to read and understand process flow diagrams, line drawings P&ID and schematics
•Support and maintain plant programs and systems such as electrical interlock catalog, burner management system, and process analyzer calibration.


Candidate Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering OR Electronics Engineering
  • At least 10+ years of Engineering or electrical/instrumentation maintenance experience in an industrial facility or constructing, installing, or troubleshooting E&I systems and/or projects in an industrial setting
