Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review complex federal, multi-state and foreign tax returns for high net worth family including multiple
generations, partnerships, corporations, trusts and foundations
• Provide in-depth tax planning services, perform research on tax issues and legislation, and exercise professional
judgment to develop solutions
• Review tax accounting services and implement best practices to meet compliance and reporting standards in
coordination with business management and family office teams
• Train, hire, develop and mentor tax department staff
• Assess and implement operational improvements and technology infrastructure upgrades
• Attend tax seminars and other events for professional development and shared learning
• Manage external professional service provider relationships
• Travel as necessary domestically, possibly to Mexico and Canada
• Review and recommend on potential transactions in an effort to outline potential tax implications.
• Work with the estate planning attorneys to design and implement tax efficient plans for individuals to reduce tax on
transfers and establish effective generational wealth preservation policies
• Oversee the bookkeeping responsibilities for the trusts, foundations and individuals
• Participate in the budgeting process for the family members, tracking expenses and charitable contributions
• Keeping abreast of International tax treaty law as it may apply to the family members
• Quarterly reporting and cash flow projections for the individual family members, trusts and business stakeholders
• Tax planning and compliance for the philanthropic arms
• Tracking and reporting for intercompany loans

Qualifications:

• 12+ years' tax compliance and planning experience with a high net worth family
• Active Certified Public Accountant license required, PFS designation a plus
• Educational background in Accounting focus including bachelor's and MST, MBT or MSA
• Advanced understanding oftax software and technology utilization
• Willing to travel as necessary
• Ability to identify needs within the organization and plan to meet them on a timely basis
• Ability to interact effectively with family members and to advise them on specific tax issues
• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must have the ability to work independently and to manage, train and motivate a staff of 5
• Extensive knowledge of complex high net worth tax compliance, planning and research relating to Family Office
structures
• Extensive knowledge of estate and trust taxes as well as S corp flow though entity taxation
