Position Overview
The paralegal is responsible for providing legal, operational, compliance and administrative support to Primary Health Network.
Location and Hours of Position
The general office hours for this position is Mon-Fri 8:30 AM-5:00 PM. The position is located in Mercer, PA
Education/Experience Requirements
Associate’s Degree in paralegal studies or related field
•Ability to read and write various types of legal documents
•General knowledge of legal practices and procedures
•Attention to detail
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Strong organization skills to manage and shift workload
•Ability to effectively interact with individuals of all levels within and outside of the Network
•Database management
Duties
•Supports Administration by gathering, reviewing, editing and organizing various legal documents and files as assigned
•Managing the full signature process for all legal document and other documents as assigned.
•Organizing, maintaining and electronically tracking contracts and related documents
•Review routine agreements and/or legal documents and make recommendations for changes
•Review subpoenas for testimony, medical records and depositions served to PHN’s providers or clinical staff. Consult with PHN’s legal counsel for enforceability of the documents. Consult with requesting counsel as needed. Coordinate invoice preparation with Finance per PHN policy.
•Assist with the FTCA claims management process in accordance with the Network’s Management and Processing of Malpractice Claims policy.
•Assist with ensuring the preservations of documentation related to legal proceedings or potential claims.
•Review custody paperwork for PHN minor and dependent patients and gather additional documentation and information as needed to ensure the appropriate individual(s) is consenting for treatment.
•Organize and prepare for various meetings related to legal proceedings internally and externally
•Provide administrative support
•Perform other duties as assigned
