IT Field Service Technicians and Deployment Coordinators

Job Description

 We are setting up a depot for a large scale Window 10 Deployment and are seeking several resources to help in this effort for about 4 weeks beginning on 7/13/2020. 

We are hiring for very specific roles listed below but here are the basic qualifications we seek for our field technicians;

Here is a list of the qualifications and skill-set we seek from our Service Technicians:

 

  • ·                     Previous PC Deployment experience in an corporate environment
  • ·                     Thorough knowledge of technical equipment handling, deployment, installation, servicing, and configuration of desktop, laptop PC and peripherals
  • ·                     Able to lift up to 50 pounds of technical equipment
  • ·                     A+ certification
  • ·                     Excellent customer service skills and follow up
  • ·                     Strong verbal communication skills 

Pre-Deployment – Inflow Tech

  • Greet user when they arrive
  • Connect machine to monitor/keyboard/mouse/network
  • Ask user if they backed up data?  Have user signoff if they say they did?
  • Backup user data to OneDrive or External USB Media – This could take 0 time (if user signs off they already did it) or it could take many hours depending on data (large PSTs are killers).
  • Document printers used.
  • Document applications used.
  • Document VPN requirements.
  • Receive user signature for Inflow tasks.
  • Update cut sheet accordingly.
  • Disconnect machine from monitor/keyboard/mouse/network
  • Handoff machine and cutsheet to Image Techs

 

Deploy/Image Tech

 

  • Receive hardware from Inflow techs
  • Connect hardware to monitor/keyboard/mouse/network
  • Reimaging Legacy Assets
  • Image new assets
  • Monitor status of reimage/image on machines
  • Update cut sheets with status
  • Disconnect hardware from monitor/keyboard/mouse/network
  • Deliver hardware to Outflow techs

 

Post-Deployment – Outflow Tech

 

  • Greet user
  • Connect machine to monitor/keyboard/mouse/network
  • Have user login to computer
  • Start OneDrive or External USB restore of data – Time to complete = TBD based on amount of data (especially large PSTs)
  • Install required network printers.
  • Install required applications.
  • Install and test VPN (if required).
  • Extract and reconnect PSTs in Outlook (cannot be done until synced back to hard drive).
  • Work with user to have them test they have all required functionality.
  • Receive user signature for Outflow tasks.
  • Update cut sheet accordingly.
  • Disconnect machine from monitor/keyboard/mouse/network
  • Give signed cut sheet to Tech Lead

 

Team Lead – 2 Per Site (Intake + Outflow/Support)

 

  • Overall management of the process/techs/escalations
  • 1 Lead to manage the Intake and Image Process
  • 1 Lead to manage the Outflow and Support Process
  • Assist users for escalations
  • Update Work Orders in CDM (this may also be done by the Outflow tech)
