CSS (Community Support Staff) for The Pathways School-Anne Arundel or The Pathways School-Edgewood
The Pathways Schools is a nonpublic special education facility operating four small success-oriented educational and therapeutic programs in the Washington DC/Maryland metropolitan area and the Baltimore region.
The Pathways School- Anne Arundel and The Pathways School-Edgewood integrate academic, therapeutic, and vocational services through unique community-based programming for high school students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. The cornerstones of the program are intensive individualization of the delivery of services within the community and transition supports.
The Community Support Staff (CSS) position is a teaching para-professional position working with one or two students as a teacher/tutor, mentor and job coach. CSS coordinate lesson plans with certified special education teachers and behavioral support with licensed therapists at the school site. Work with the student takes place primarily in the community.
Full-time, 10-month position

· Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field (such as criminal justice).
· Experience with young adults in individual or group settings is essential. Experience with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities is preferred.
· A car, valid driver’s license and safe driving record;
· Patience; dependability.
