The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance department. This position optimizes the accuracy of financial information through the maintenance of the general ledger and account reconciliation process; prepares reconciliations and journal entries.

This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, benefit eligible position based out of South Portland, ME.

 

Does have the ability to work remotely but may need to come to the office from time to time. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Associate degree in Accounting and 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Intermediate level of understanding of GAAP required.
  • High level of comfort with relational databases and MS Excel required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Outstanding attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
