Accounts Payable Specialist

The Opportunity Alliance is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance department. The Accounts Payable Specialist is an Accounting technical support position in the Finance Department. This position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency's mission through the performance of all duties associated with the recording billing, reporting and reconciling of the Agency's accounts payable software system.

 

This position attends and participates in periodic finance department staff meetings.

 

Work is performed. reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager.

 

This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position. 

 

This position does have the ability to work remotely but may need to come to the office from time to time. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting preferred. A combination of a High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience is a computerized accounts payable environment experience required. 
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and general business practices.
  • Demonstrated speed and accuracy utilizing a 10-key adding machine and data entry.
  • Exceptional attention to detail required.
  • Experience with The Financial Edge Accounting software preferred, or similar experience.
  • Strong skill in Microsoft Excel and Word software packages.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings but is not a primary and essential job responsibility.
