Generally follows design direction or develops concepts provided by others but on occasion may have the opportunity to independently develop design solutions.
Prepares drawings and renderings using CAD programs and/or hand sketches.
Takes field measurements of existing conditions.
Observes projects during the construction phase.
Researches and selects FF&E under direction of more senior staff (Interior Designers).
Works as a team member on projects of any size.
Assists with project management tasks.
Compiles data and organizes files.
Participates in problem solving as part of design team.
Expands upon and develops concepts provided by others while maintaining design intent and building program.
Provides design solutions to specific conditions or general design issues.
Excellent knowledge of REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Lumion and similar programs.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Ability to accurately complete “mark-ups” provided by others.
Basic knowledge of building and life safety codes.
Good knowledge of their standards.
Ability to assemble and produce a set of construction documents for a small project under direct supervision.
Ability to clearly exchange information with other team members, both written and verbally.
Ability to communicate with consultants and clients on project-related issues.
Power of Influence
Assists Designer I with their professional development.
May on occasion provide assignments to Designer I.
Bachelor of Architecture or Landscape Architecture (professional degree) or Bachelor of Arts with major related to the field (non-professional degree) or Associate Degree in Architectural Technology.
Two to four years of professional experience.
For architectural designers, participate in the AXP program to record work experience as required and possibly begin taking the ARE. For interior and landscape designers, pursue NCIDQ or licensure, respectively.
This can be a Non-Exempt or an Exempt position. There is some flexibility between remote work and being onsite.
