Job Description
Salary: $75K - $140K / yr

This role will implement designs created for commercial projects and electrical systems. To do well in this role you should be a licensed professional engineer.

 

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Implementing or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for small and medium commercial projects / medium industrial purposes.
  • Perform site/job inspections
  • Prepare material lists
  • Review blueprints to ensure they meet requirements
  • Design blueprints if needed
  • Oversee the installation and testing of electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Initiate purchase orders for materials and components
  • Conferring with clients, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
  • Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, etc.
  • Ensure compliance of the electric utility with local utility provider and local parish/county
  • Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
  • Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or client requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
  • Writing reports and compile data
  • Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
  • Supervising project team members.
  • Maintaining electrical equipment.
  • Working with a variety of technicians.

 

Electrical Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering degree from an accredited school.
  • Licensed as a professional engineer.
  • Must be technologically experienced to use laptops, tablets, phone.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering.
  • Computer operation skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills for working within the office and with the general public.
  • Knowledge of the routine principles, practices, equipment and materials used in technical civil engineering and line and computerized drafting.
  • Knowledge of the routine principles, practices, used in the operation of Computer Aided Design software.
  • Ability to perform accurate engineering mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with city officials, other governmental agencies, superiors, coworkers, contractors, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of drafting methods and instruments.
  • Ability to draft maps and plot cross-sections.
  • Considerable knowledge of the use of Auto-Cad, spreadsheets, word-processing, and database.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Ability to work in office

 

Bonus, but not required:

  • Solar photovoltaic system experience
  • Bilingual
